As Tami
recalls:
My (Tami) very first Ladies Run I attended and I remember we had to
wait for the rain to quit in Bismarck before we took off - only to run
into that rain storm in Richardton and then pretty much all the way to
Medora. Such is the life of one who rides motorcycles.
Bonnie was my inspiration for me
getting on a motorcycle. I saw her ride at one of the ABATE Toy
Run & Rodeo Rides one year and I said, "if she can do it so can I"
- and the rest is history.
Bonnie's bike broke down as soon
as we pulled into the campground in Medora. She rode bitch the
rest of the weekend and then on Sunday we called in the "reinforcement
from Bismarck" to come haul her bike home. She was sooooooo
bummed about it breaking down.
If I'm not mistaken one of the other girls'
bikes broke down as we were riding through the state park. Had to
load that one up to on a trailer that was taken up to "rescue it".
Most all the girls tented it that weekend,
although there were a few that would have nothing to do with camping so
they got a room in town.
Rowdy did the "annual rubber salute".
That was always good for a holler. We sat around the campfire and
talked, told jokes, and just got to know each other.
...those were the days my friend...
