Her Story

In Memory of
Nancy Dorwart
Born
December 23, 1953
Lampman, Saskatchewan
Passed Away
Wednesday, June 28th, 2006
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

In June of 2006 and at the tender age of 52 God called Nancy Dorwart home to
be with Him. He had plans for her in heaven and needed her there. Nancy
was a member of the Prairie Winds from Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada and had
attended many of the ND Ladies Runs. She had a great outlook on life and
any time you'd see her the smile on her face would make you do the same.
It's a contaigous thing, that smile! She is missed greatly by the friends
and family that she left behind here on this earth but is thought of very
often.

In Memory of
Shawna's Mother
Judy Van Tassel
Died June 2006
Judy was 66 years old when she decided to stop fighting the cancer that grabbed her 5 years before. When she found out, she decided to start going to the motorcycle Ladies ND ride with her daughter, Shawna.

Her first ride bitch was after major abdominal surgery! She REALLY was supprised at the support of all the motorcycle ladies. Like a second family, it kept her going. Life was like a motorcycle ride to her, you never know what is around the next bend in the road, but it was worth the ride to get there!

It was always just mom and I since I was 3 years old. She taught me everything a father and mother would! She WAS my father and mother all rolled into one! My mother did everything from fly air planes to travel to Alaska (by herself back in the 1960's). We enjoyed camping and most of all sharing the last 5 years with her grandson (Joel). There is so much to say about this remarkable, beautiful lady... but to sum it up (Every one enjoyed Judy, she was an elementary teacher, archeologist, pilot, motorcycle enthusiast, camper, hiker, and made everyone laugh and enjoy life.) She always said she was still in her first childhood.

At the end, the cancer got her nervous system. When the chemo, and other drugs were just too much (where life was no fun any more), she said (I am ready to see my mother and father in heaven). The last weekend we saw her, I placed her in the hospice hospital for pain control. She told me to go on my vacation with my family. I knew that she was letting me go. Her resting place is over looking the badlands where we camped every summer of my life... and to this day Joel, Dale and I camp. She has wild flowers, birds, bison and fresh snow for her to enjoy enterally.

Thank you for listening to me talk about mom. Losing her has been the hardest thing in my life. She lives on in each of the people she has met.
Take care and ride safe,
Shawna "Sam" "Treefrog" Zastoupil

In Memory of
Mary Ann "Rowdy" Coon
died July 18, 2006
at the age of 51
Rowdy was from Williston. She attended many of the NDLR, not all, but many.

She is the one that did (as you can see in this picture) the rubber on a beer can trick.

At the 2006 NDLR, at the end of the banquet, it was done again, this same thing
with a beer
